Answering your frequently asked questions regarding your appointment with The Pain & Spine Physio
Do I need to see my GP first?
No, you don’t need a referral to see us. We can refer you back to your GP or to a specialist if it is required.
I have an injury. How do I claim ACC?
You do not need to have it done prior to coming in to see us. We can fill out the necessary paperwork together when you come in for your initial assessment.
How do I know if my injury is covered by ACC or my insurance?
You are covered by ACC if you are suffering from a recent injury or accident.
ACC does not cover persistent pain, aging-related pain like arthritis, injuries that happen over time, or unexplained pain that worsens over time.
If you have private health insurance you may be able to claim a portion or the total cost of the visit. You will need to contact them directly to check the details of your cover and how to make a claim.
Is it easy to find you? Is there parking onsite?
Yes, we are just across the road from the St Kilda Cafe and Bistro and there is signage to guide you. There is ample parking onsite.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Yes, it is on ground level and easily accessible by wheelchair.
How do I make an appointment?
You can email, book online or call us on 0272763814.
What if I am late to my appointment?
Please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment. Call us to let us know if you are running late as your appointment might have to be reduced accordingly if we have another patient after you but the charge will remain the same.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Please make sure to contact us outside of this window to cancel or reschedule otherwise it might incur a fee. We will do our best to accommodate but we need to remain available for all our patients.
What do I need to wear?
Come dressed in exercise gear or a form-fitting top and shorts/tights to make movements easier.
Do I need to bring anything?
Bring a list of any prescribed medications, any letters from GPs, Specialists, etc., and any imaging report you may have regarding your current complaints or pain associated to it.
