You've made your appointment with The Pain & Spine Physio. Here's what to expect.
Together, we create and craft your individualised goals for rehabilitation.
How to prepare for your first visit:
Bring a list of any prescribed medications
Bring any letters from GPs / Specialists / etc.
Bring any imaging report you may have regarding your current complaints or pain associated with it.
Come dressed in exercise gear or a form-fitting top and shorts/tights to make movements easier.
Your first visit with us will usually last up to 60 minutes.
During the initial part of your first assessment, we will:
Take a thorough history of your current complaint, medical history and medications.
Access any previous letters and imaging.
Assess daily activities, including work situation (current and past); and
Talk about your expectations of physiotherapy.
The second part of your first consultation is a physical assessment.
We will complete a biomechanical assessment to understand how you move and how your current problem areas are limiting you. This will help us determine the cause(s) of your pain and/or movement limitations.
We’ll discuss our findings & work together towards an effective rehabilitation plan.
